UK Black History Month is over but we'll continue to tell our stories 365 days of the year. Across the globe, it's Women's History Month and we'll be celebrating who fought for women’s rights and inclusivity in all areas of UK life. So, join us this month in celebrating the lives of remarkable Britons from the UK’s Black past, present and future.
October is International Black History Month in the UK and our theme is 'Celebrating our Changemakers’ - an examination of key moments in Black British history and the people behind them. Monumental events and people such as the 'Sons of Africa' abolitionist group, Henry Sylvester Williams and the First Pan African Conference in the early 1900s, and the Black Civil Rights groups of the 1960s and 1970s.
