Our theme for UK Black History Month is “Legacies with Action: Understanding 60 Years of Change and Challenge,” marking the enactment of the 1965 Race Relations Act. This was a landmark moment in the ongoing journey towards racial justice and equality. Throughout the month, we will spotlight key civil rights groups, including the Campaign Against Racial Discrimination (CARD), the Black British Panthers, and the Black Parents Movement, who challenged injustice and fought for equality.

Every year on the 22nd June the UK recognises Windrush Day. We’ll not only be marking the day but we’ve designated the whole of June as Windrush Month and will be exploring the impact of the Windrush generation on the UK through our theme ‘Legacies of Change: From Windrush to Justice’.
