Windrush Month
Every June, the UK commemorates Windrush Day, honouring Caribbean pioneers' contributions to post-war Britain.
This year, we're extending the celebration to Windrush Month, focusing on the theme 'Celebrating the Caribbean Pioneers of 1940s and 1950s Britain.'
We'll highlight figures like Sam King and Althea McNish, their remarkable legacies, and the lesser-known ships that preceded the iconic HMT Empire Windrush in 1948.
